Persecution and harassment of The Bahá’í community of Egypt
Natacha Caillaux speakingOn May 5, 2007, I welcomed Dr. Nabil Ali and his wife to speak at a mini Conference near Lyon. A conference that I organized with great pleasure.
Date: May 5, 2007
Speaker: Dr. Nabil Ali from the United States
Subject: Persecution and harassment of The Bahá’í community of Egypt
Location: Newport Hotel, Villefranche sur-Saone, France
The Bahá’ís of Egypt have been subjected to persecution and systematic oppression. While their case has been evolving recently, with hopeful resolution on the horizon, the human rights of the Bahá’ís of Iran are increasingly & systematically violated by an extremist rule. Thus, while Egypt's case remains the main focus of this blog, there will only be occasional coverage on Iran since that case is being actively pursued on other sites and blogs specific to that subject.

SPEAKING on the phone while creating crepes and wraps in her Flemington café, Annick Elziere is probably going against her “savor the moment” philosophy by multitasking. She’s excited to talk about the Café Annick Music and Arts Festival on Sept. 28, but is waiting on customers at the same time.
Ms. Elziere pauses to take an order from two men who have wandered in for a late lunch, both of whom ask for a side in addition to a sandwich. “Are you sure?” she says, telling the customer that one of her wrap sandwiches will be quite enough for a mid-afternoon bite – there’s no need for anything else.
